Retreats During Fall, Winter & Spring
The availability of accommodations for a personal retreat during the non-summer season depends on what is already scheduled. If a room is available, you may come when another group is here and join the community of guests and staff for meals. When a group is not scheduled, we generally will not provide meals as our cook is off duty. You would, however, still have access to a refrigerator and microwave to prepare your own food.
Depending on the timing and length of your stay, our staff may offer mini workshops in many media including ceramics, printmaking, weaving, stained glass and mosaics.
We seek to offer opportunities to relate art and faith, and to find personal connection to the Divine through art.
Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction is a caring relationship in which the director (or mentor, companion or soul friend) listens to the stories and heart of another or sees the story and heart in another’s creative work. Listening and responding, she/he stands with the seeker and helps clarify what has been given and may respond with some focusing questions or thoughts. It is a sacred space where we “lean together into God” - a space of complete confidentiality and of awareness of the presence of the Holy One. This relationship can be helpful in the Guild environment of community, retreat, and creativity. It gives the freedom to slow down, breathe deeply and listen to our own longings and hopes.
We offer spiritual direction to those who wish it, on a modest sliding scale, with Guild Founder Liz Caemmerer or Guild Director Dan Oberg. Contact the office for availability and costs.
