Sacred Arts 2017

Sunday, April 23 - Saturday, April 29, 2017

Wonder • Discover • Begin!

"Wonder, Discover, Begin" ushers us toward a creative practice that celebrates the union of spirit and matter.

Created in the image of the Holy One, we each are part of this union defined by love and called to make marks as our own unique expressions of this love.

The program is facilitated by Scott Burnett, artist & worship pastor, and Laurie Rudel, pastor & spiritual director.

About the Sacred Arts Program

Past participants say about their Sacred Arts experience:

"I loved [how matins and vespers] tied the days & the week & the community together -- the mixture of poetry & sculpture & reflective garden & altar time."

"[The week was] beautifully planned & paced, inviting joyful involvement."

"Welcoming, open & supportive."

Whether you're just beginning to explore art and worship, or have many years of experience with liturgical arts, Sacred Arts is a time to explore your own spiritual journey and envision new possibilities for creativity and the sacred. This year's classes feature an exciting combination of old favorites and new offerings -- taught, as always, by our world-class faculty with an average class size of just seven students.

Communal meals and twice-daily worship times will invite newcomers and old friends alike into the intimate and inclusive community that makes the Guild so unique. Guests are welcome to engage in all scheduled activities, or spend time alone in creativity, rest, and reflection.

And of course, our stunning location and rambling campus in the North Central Cascades provides an ideal backdrop for your Sacred Arts experience, offering inspiration for creation and reflection, as well as rest and recreation.
