Guild Happenings - May 2012

Spring is here at the Grünewald Guild and we couldn't be more excited (yes, that is a look of excitement on our chickens).  The campus is bustling as we host retreat groups and prepare the garden and campus for the busy summer season.  As always, we want to keep you informed about upcoming classes and retreat, as well as available opportunities for you to host your own events on our campus.

Sign Up for Summer Classes

June-August 2012

Registrations are beginning to pour in more frequently now that summer is getting closer.  Our 2012 summer season includes longtime Guild faculty as well as new members and classes that we are excited to offer.  With less than 2 months before the summer season kicks into full gear, don't wait until the last minute to sign up--we'll see you this summer!  A chronological listing of classes can be viewed at our website.

Grünewald Guild Songwriting Contest

Deadline: June 1, 2012

We are announcing our first ever songwriting contest, organized by Guild faculty member Jan Krist!

CONTEST RULES:

Songs must be written between January-May 2012 and e-mailed to Jan at jan[at]jankrist[dot]net by June 1st to be considered.  Entry fee is $20 per song, limit of 2 songs per entrant.  Call the Guild with credit card info or send a check by mail.

Finalists will be chosen by June 7, 2012.  Finalists must be willing to travel to the Guild on the weekend of July 27-28 where they will receive meals and accomodations.

Performance of finalists will occur at the Guild "coffee house" on Friday, July 27 at 7:30 p.m.  The Guild "Music in the Meadow" concert performers will decide upon a winner that night, with the winner being invited to be the opening act at the concert at Icicle Creek Center for the Arts in Leavenworth, WA, on Saturday, July 28.  All other finalists are invited to attend the concert as our guests.

The winner will also receive free tuition to a future Guild event and promotion through the Grünewald Guild website.

Spring Work Weekend

June 1-3, 2012

Join us as we prepare the Guild campus for summer and get the garden started for growing.  Work weekends are free of charge (including meals and lodging) in exchange for your volunteered time and energy...and always a great time!  If you would like to participate, just contact us and we'll make sure we have room for you.

Book Ahead for Fall/Winter Retreats!

We are already booking reservations for retreat space for Fall 2012.  We are an affordable option for group, church and organizational retreats.  Our location in central Washington makes us far enough away (but not too far) for your retreat, and our ability to provide meal survice cuts down on the amount of planning you need to do in order to make your retreat or getaway a successful one.  If you would like to discuss holding a retreat with us in the fall, give Dan a call in the office or contact him via e-mail (dan[at]grunewaldguild[dot]com).  We look forward to hearing from you!

Internship Program

We can uniquely arrange to accomodate your schedule and help design your project so you can take advantage of opportunities and resources here at the Guild.  If you are interested in a possible internship (or know someone who is) please let us know--we would love to begin a conversation with you.  For more information, you can also visit the Internships page on our website.
