The common thread of Suzanne's career in the arts has always been as a designer, maker, and instructor of woven fabrics. She is a charter member/owner of By Hand Gallery in Bloomington that opened in 1979. In addition to By Hand Gallery, she currently sells her work at Weaving Southwest, Taos, NM, Penland Gallery, Penland, NC, Marigold Arts, Santa Fe, NM, as well as by commission. She has become a nationally-recognized weaving instructor and has taught at countless weaving workshops and textile conferences since the early 80’s. She taught at Penland School of Craft, Penland, NC, and at Ghost Ranch, Abuquiu, NM in 2009. In 2005, and 2008/2009 she was an Adjunct Weaving Instructor at Earlham College in Richmond, IN. Her work has been published in Handwoven, Shuttle Spindle and Dyepot, and Weaving for Worship. She has led Art History and Textile group trips to: London, Florence, Amsterdam, Bruges, Guatemala, and New Mexico.
