Throughout the week we will delve deep into our spiritual journeys through guided meditation, creative responses, and reflective writing.
Each day will begin with Carla introducing a new theme for us to explore. We will draw inspiration from spending contemplative time in outdoor spaces, and by focusing on our own rich interior landscapes. Adele will guide us as we translate our responses to the theme into expressive visual imagery using line, shape, and color. Reflective journaling responses will allow us to explore the theme through the written word, as well.
As we record our longings, questions, discoveries, and hopes, our sketchbooks will become a kind of map through the unique journey of our own spiritual exploration.
All experience levels welcome. Ages 18+
What will class time be like? Will I need to work outside of class?
Each day will guide us through instructor presentations, guided meditation, creative responses, and reflective writing prompts around the day’s theme. While there will be time for group sharing, much of the focus of this class will be introspective.
There is no requirement for participants to work outside of class time; however, the studio is open 24 hours and participants are welcome to continue working in the afternoons and evenings if they choose.
What can I expect to create?
Over the course of the week we will fill our sketchbooks with questions, observations, creative responses, and written reflections based on our own spiritual journeys. Our visual responses may take the form of drawing, sketching, painting, and/or collage.
What should I bring to class?
All necessary materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to wear suitable clothing for spending time outdoors each day.
Those with an established sketchbook or any preferred drawing or writing utensils are welcome to bring them. Please mark any personal art supplies clearly before the beginning of class!
