Consider becoming a sustaining donor with a monthly gift to the Guild. Your gift of any size will support qualified staff, robust operations, and facility care all year round.
Existing donors make monthly gifts from $10 to $500, with most falling in the range of $25 to $50. In 2023, these gifts provided sufficient funds to cover one full time staff salary!
A variety of donation schedules are available, and every gift supports art + faith + community all year round.
Can you tell me more about the difference my gift makes?
The Guild receives about 25% of its budget from program revenue, and another 15% from private and group retreats. Grants and outside funding constitutes another 15%. Donations make up the difference, contributing to around 40% of the revenue that supports our yearly operating budget.
While around 25% of those donations come through dedicated fundraisers, individual and sustaining monthly gifts comprise the majority of the Guild’s donation revenue. Not only does your sustaining monthly donation have an enormous impact on the Guild’s financial health, but its consistency helps to ensure funding throughout the year for:
- Staff salaries and wages
- Creating programs
- Mentoring interns and participants in our Artist in Residence program
- Maintaining studios and keeping art supplies stocked
- Providing hospitality
- Supporting faculty
- Tending to aging buildings on our large rural campus
- Engaging with our local community

Are there any perks to being a Sustaining Donor?
Sustaining donors receive quarterly emails with Guild news. Starting in 2024, Sustaining Donors will be invited to quarterly online gatherings with the Director and will receive early access to registration for summer programming. At the end of the calendar year, Sustaining Donors receive an art print celebrating the year’s theme.
How do I become a Sustaining Donor online?
Click the blue donation button (at right) and use the second pulldown menu to select your donation schedule. Please ensure that “General Fund” is selected, and complete the rest of the process using the prompts provided. You will provide payment information on the second page.
Is it possible to be a Sustaining Donor via text message?
Yes, you may set up sustaining monthly donations through text message! Simply text 509-348-4667 with your desired donation amount and the word “monthly” (ie. 50 monthly). First-time donors will be asked to complete a setup process. You may update your sustaining donation anytime by texting the word “update” to the same number.
Is it possible to be a Sustaining Donor via check?
Yes! Many Sustaining Donors send monthly checks to the Guild, either using their personal checkbook or automating monthly checks using their bank/credit union’s “bill pay” services. Please make checks payable to The Grünewald Guild, and include a note such as “Sustaining Donor” in the check memo field.
