Join long-time Guild Instructor Carla McConnell and explore mandala creation with an emphasis on infusing light. Working on colored backgrounds with metallic paints, watercolor, acrylic, and colored pencils, we will experiment with ways to enable healing brightness into our shadowlands and beyond the circle. Join Carla on this journey “where no man has gone before” – or “woman” for that matter! Previous instruction is helpful but not required. Ages 18 and over.
What will class time be like? Will I need to work outside of class?
At the beginning of each class, various watercolor pencil methods will be demonstrated and new instruction given as we layer our design. Most class time will be working hands-on. The teacher will work on a mandala as well, sharing the journey. Students are encouraged to work outside of class time, as well.
What can I expect to create?
Depending on complexity of form, each student should complete one mandala during the class week.
What should I bring to class?
All necessary supplies will be provided. If desired, students may bring their own watercolor pencils (Derwent Inktense Watercolor, Derwent Watercolor, or Derwent Graphtint) and/or taklon or other soft brushes. Please label your personal materials prior to arriving at the Guild!
