Join Guild Studio Manager Gray Lyons with camera in hand for this beginner’s photography course.
This class will provide the opportunity to acquire a basic working knowledge of the technical capabilities and creative applications of digital cameras. We will explore exposure, lighting and depth of field, as well as composition and focal point. We will view and respond to the work of historic and contemporary photographers, in addition to creating our own images.
Ages 8-11 are welcome when accompanied by an adult participant; solo participants ages 12+.
When is class time?
10:00am – 11:00am (Pacific Time), Monday through Friday, June 15-19, via Zoom
Gray is also happy to meet for one-on-one conversations outside of class time.
A digital point and shoot camera will suffice, but a DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera will result in more camera control and higher quality imagery. It’s beneficial for your camera to have some exposure control and / or exposure compensation. Students without a camera may choose to use a cell phone, although some image controls will not be available.
