Open Cyber Studio – October

Join Studio Manager Gray Lyons for the Guild’s Open Cyber Studio in October!

Back by popular demand, a time of open studio for artists of all media to gather and create together.

We hope that by gathering together we can encourage more art making, provide a place of mutual learning from one another’s creative experiences, and host a few hours of creative community each week!

How does this work?

You register for either the Tuesday or Wednesday session (yes, it’s possible… you could do both!) Each week we will gather online through the video conferencing tool called Zoom. Each participant will receive (via email) the invitation link to join in.

What will these cyber studio sessions look like?

There will be four sessions in total. At the first session, the initial minutes will be spent sharing about the hopes and dreams for our art making during the month. At each session there may be some minor sharing on progress of our projects. During the final session, we’ll devote the last moments to a time of sharing about we’ve been working on and maybe celebrate with some ice cream!

There will be no instruction. We are hoping, though, to have a few Guild faculty in our midst, willing to have their cameras on and focused on their projects, in case you want to take a break and simply watch art in process.

Do I have to show up for every session?

You are welcome to come and go at your convenience to our 2-hour cyber studio sessions.  You are welcome to have your video on or off. If you want to play music, we’ll ask that you mute your microphone. Depending on the mood of the group, informal conversation will likely be part of our time together.

What can I expect to create?

That’s up to you! Chances are good, though, that you will create something since you’re doing it in community!

What are the dates and times?

Tuesday Group:

Tuesdays, October 6, 13, 27 and November 3 (9am-11am Pacific Time/12noon-2pm Eastern Time)

Wednesday Group:

Wednesdays, October 7, 14, 28 and November 4 (6:00pm-8:00pm Pacific Time/9:00pm-11:00pm Eastern Time)

What is the cost?

For $40, you are registered for the four weekly sessions.
