Previous students say, “Anne Mullenniex perfectly balances hands-on teaching with independent play time to learn new skills.”
Broken glass lends itself perfectly to spiritual expression; students will use simple meditation practice and contemplation to visualize a design that represents them personally. The wonder of mosaic is that anyone – from beginner to experienced artist – can employ glue, grout, and small pieces of colored glass to make exquisite art that expresses each individual in color and light. This class will cover design elements, techniques and the process of creating a unique and stunning stained glass mosaic window.
All experience levels welcome, including beginners. Ages 14+
What will class time be like? Will I need to work outside of class?
Class will begin with brief instructor demonstrations, followed by independent student work time with one-on-one feedback and instruction. Most participants should anticipate working outside of class time to complete their projects.
Here’s a look at a previous stained glass mosaic class of Anne’s:
What can I expect to create?
Participants can expect to create one mosaic glass window sized no larger than 18” x 24” (plus frame).
What should I bring to class?
Students have the option to bring a window from home, or something with a unique frame or shape – found at a thrift store, garage or antique sale, to better create a personal piece of art. This is not required. All necessary materials will be provided. Students may bring dimensions of a window at home where they plan to display their completed projects. Closed-toe shoes should be worn in the studio at all times.
