We’re thrilled to welcome back Bethany A. Wray with a class that past participants have described as “an inspiration!” and “Excellent. Grace-filled. Fun.”
Bethany writes, “Nature will be our guide as this class will focus on watercoloring the beautiful outdoors. We will cover basic watercolor technique as we spend time painting in a different location each day. From washes to basic color theory, the beautiful backdrop of Plain and Lake Wenatchee will prompt us to see in new ways and learn to trust the playfulness of our hand. This class will require the ability to walk comfortably up to 2 miles and sit between 1-2 hours on a portable chair. (Breaks are allowed!)”
All experience levels welcome, including beginners. Ages 16+
What will class time be like? Will I need to work outside of class?
The first 30 minutes will be spent traveling to painting destination, followed by a short, 15-20 minute demo upon arrival. Participants will then be released to paint on their own for 1.5 hour and then the last 30 minutes will be spent returning to the Guild. If time allows, an opportunity for sharing will be provided at the end.
All projects can be completed within the allotted class time.
Participants will complete at least 5 paintings during the week. Those wishing to continue exploring & painting outside of class time may complete additional studies or paintings, as well.
What should I bring to class?
Please come prepared to paint outside in the heat, with plenty of bug spray, a hat, sunglasses and water bottle. All necessary materials will be provided, including portable stools; however, experienced artists may wish to bring their own materials or chairs. Please mark all personal materials clearly prior to the start of class!
