Come study with Guild Founder Liz Caemmerer and long-time weaver Suzanne Halvorson, the impressive team-teaching duo whom past students describe as “excellent,” “inspiring,” “attentive & knowledgable.”
Weaving is active meditation. The focus of the course will be on designing and weaving a bag or wall piece exploring color, texture, and inlay. The projects will push creative boundaries for all skill levels. Participants will learn all steps of the weaving process, from designing, preparing yarns, dressing their own loom, and weaving their project.
All experience levels welcome, including beginners. Ages 16+
Each day will start with a meditative reading. The class time will be spent designing, preparing yarn for weaving, dressing their loom, weaving, and finishing their project. Participants will be encouraged to work in community to help one another.
All participants in this class must spend significant time outside of class in order to complete their projects.
What can I expect to create?
Participants will each finish a handwoven bag or wall piece. Each piece will be the participant’s own design based on suggested project ideas.
What should I bring to class?
Please bring a notebook, pen or pencil, and a short inspirational reading or poem.
