Jim Halvorson
I have been a potter for nearly 50 years having been initially introduced to the ceramic art while a student at Valparaiso University. I received my MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology where I studied with Bauhaus trained potter Frans Wildenhain. Moving to Bloomington In. with my wife Suzanne, we established our studios producing our respective artwork. In 1990 I achieved my teachers certification and then taught ceramics and other art class in the Indianapolis Public School system. Having retired from the classroom I have returned to my pottery pursuit.
