The Theme: Forest Vision
The Grünewald Guild has practiced art among the Ponderosas since 1980. With each collective, creative connection, the soul emerges, love is resurrected, and new ways of living, being and moving throughout this world are experienced.
While we remember the Guild’s namesake, Matthias Grünewald, whose work 500 years ago served as a medium of transformation in both personal healing and social reconciliation, we also celebrate this place in the “green woods” that for 40 years has been home to thousands of artists.
Together we listen, honor and respond to the Spirit’s presence through questions that will not let us go, with laughter and conversation, in quiet and restful moments. In the unity of hope and courage, love shows up in visible and audible revelations of story, painting, sculpture, song, our art. We witness miracles.
Come be part of this nurturing embrace of art, faith and community.
“a safe place and affirming community.”
“welcoming, nourishing, and grace-filled.”
” a beautiful place for contemplation, creation, and community.”
Summer at the Grünewald Guild is a time to embrace your creative spirit, explore your sacred journey, and engage in nurturing community.
This year’s classes include familiar favorites as well as new offerings, all taught by our world-class faculty with an average class size of just seven students.
Newcomers and old friends alike say our intimate and inclusive community is what makes the Guild so unique. Throughout the week, you’ll be able to enjoy communal meals, ecumenical worship, and plenty of opportunities for casual conversation and sharing. You are welcome to take part in all activities, or spend time alone in creativity, rest, and reflection.
And of course, our beautiful location in the North Central Cascades provides inspiration for art-making, reflection, and exploration.
